この記事を書いている僕は、海外で働くサラリーマンでして、日常的に英会話や英語ライティングをしています。いっときはアメリカに住んでいる時もあり、ハーバード大学に行ったり、MITに行ってみたり、はたまたカルフォルニア大学の人と仕事をしたりもしました。

さて、今は英語で働く海外サラリーマンDaichiですが、社会人になりたての頃はパスポートもない、海外に行ったこともことない、英語も話せない凡人です。それでも奮起してから3年で、↑くらいの生活まで行けるのだから、人生は面白いものです。

英語勉強を始めた当時、僕は毎日のように英語を勉強し、1日でも早く英語で世界に勝負できるように英語ダイアリーをつけたりもしていました。その中では、たくさんの英語日記に挑戦しましたが、効果のあるもの・効果のまったくなかったもの、たくさん経験しています。

Dear diary,
I was sitting at the lunch table with Angela today and Allen cracked the funny joke in history.
Before I could start laughing, Angela sprayed milk all over the table.
Note: Never tell Angela a joke when she’s drinking milk, that’s a tip to spend my safe days.
It’s amazing just how much milk can come out of someone’s nose!

Today, my summer holidays have begun.
I have some plans for summer vacation.

Last year, I did not plan my vacations, but this year, I will do everything to make them interesting.

Dear diary,
Today was an eventful day.
For a long time, I have been wanting to visit Disney World with my family. We finally managed to make that plan work. The moment we entered there, we felt as if we were in our dream.
All things welcome us, everything we saw is memorable such as the WCO airport, a magical express bus, hotel resorts, room in the resort, all meals, drinks, and of course, attractions and characters.
I was definitely fascinated with Disney World. For the next time of Disney World trip, I will save my dairy cost, and surely will go back there next year!

Dear diary,
It was Christmas eve tonight. I got some presents from my wife and cute children and after a long time we made some fun time.
I gave some new pencils and pens to my boy to write with and a new notebook. We had a nice dinner tonight with nice cooked chicken and a delicious dessert with strawberries that my wife made. We really loved the dinner as much as love my wife.
Now I think it’s time to have a sleep. It’s already late and my eyes will close every moment. Well, I also got a new pillow , which is really soft and cozy, just as soft like fears.
But for now I have to say good night to my diary.
